Explicație de pe wiki:

„An indefinite name for a gadget or mechanical contrivance, esp. a small
manufactured item”

traducere: miniobiect

„In computer programming, a widget (or control) is an element of a graphical
user interface (GUI) that displays an information arrangement changeable by the
user, such as a window or a text box. The defining characteristic of a widget is
to provide a single interaction point for the direct manipulation of a given
kind of data. In other words, widgets are basic visual building blocks which,
combined in an application, hold all the data processed by the application and
the available interactions on this data.”
traducere: control

„In computing a web widget is a software widget for the web. It's a small
application that can be installed and executed within a web page by an end
user.”
traducere: miniaplicație

Păi un „widget” este la urma urmei o mică aplicație :)
Deci, mică aplicație = miniaplicație.

Cred că dintre toate definițiile cea care are sens, după părerea mea, este
miniaplicație.

Numai bine,
