Honestly, I don't know either. I told Alejo that I could understand his
wanting to adapt the existing translations to the Argentine variant,
especially regarding the use of tenses and the voseo (that is commomplace in
Argentina). I told him he had two options: start from scratch or use the
existing Spanish translations to adapt them to the Argentine variant, which is
much easier. I think he misinterpreted my answer, since at no point did I tell
him that the best option was to start from scratch. In any case, I haven't
heard from him since.
If he wanted to move forward, I think the ideal solution would be something
similar to what happens with Catalan and Valencian Catalan. Starting from
scratch is extremely difficult.
