Please do not do that (yet).
Can you send in the file "kpat.mo" which most like lies in
/usr/share/locale/de/LC_MESSAGES/
This is the compiled translation file. From it we can tell if you have the
original KDE translation.

Also please check the version of your KDE translation package. Maybe they
shipped one from KDE 4.3.
