I can't really comment on the ioslave part. On the library part though, I see 
that most of the patch is: commenting code out, or adding random kDebug lines. 
I think you should cleanup all those before committing (so remove the 
commented out code, and most of the kDebug lines).

Apart from that, the library part of the patch looks fine.
