That argument convinces me. I updated the wiki version at 
http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/Oxygen/namingSpec/devices this way.

While I'm not 100% sure about leaving them out altogether - rather something 
around 85% - it seems to be the best idea to leave the DVD icon out for now. 
If there is a pressing need for it (and I do indeed expect K3b to need a DVD 
icon) we can still restore it with SVN.

So, yeah, let's remove it for now.

Thus:
- approval by Kévin: *check*
- approval by David: seems to me like he accepts the way it is

If I'm correct, the renaming can begin NOW.
