I'm having a summer vacation ... :-) but phwoooaaarrr it's hot ...

I am a bit disturbed to find that much of the stuff is cosmetic in nature,
but could cause quite a lot of "maintenance" effort. We should be
concentrating on reviving some of the KDE 3 games that got relegated,
improving the gameplay of existing KDE 4 games or introducing new games.
Speaking personally, the effort of converting to KDE 4 and implementing SVG
graphics, full resizeability and theming has taken its toll on me. I have not
had time to work on improvements to KGoldrunner gameplay for a year
and a half and I have not had time to work on my new 3D OpenGL game for
nearly two years. It now needs converting to Qt 4 and KDE 4 before I can
even write another line of new code ... :-(
We are having a Linux conference here in Melbourne later this month and
one of the attendees, in a pre-conference email, has a largish project that
might be interesting to some of us KDE gamers ... I'll keep you posted.
Meanwhile I am not anxious to engage in another round of interface and
GUI adjustments. And if anyone suggests that games will be dropped from
KDE 4.x Games if they do not follow that trend ... Grrrrr.
Let us look for ways to make KDE 4 Games more numerous, more varied,
more creative and more entertaining this time around.
Cheers, Ian W.
P.S. I already posted ideas for improving KGoldrunner, which Luciano
and I have discussed. The feature list needs updating (we have DONE some
of the items). Luciano and I last worked on the list about 4 months ago.
