Ah, KDE. Where half the fun of creating software is to try and work a
'K' into the name. :)

I would have to say, while cute, 'Kanvas' would be inappropriate. The
KDE API tries to be a bit more professional and therefore predictable.
For example, we have 'KComboBox', not 'KomboBox', and 'KConfig'
instead of 'Konfig'.

Plus, 'Kanvas' reminds me of 'Kansas'. ;)
