Thanks very much, Albert.  https: is OK - I've used it before.  Response
to "host" is intermittent.  IP is OK, but often get "connection timed out".
After a few tries, I got "svn co" to work :-)  I'll take this issue up with
my
service-provider's help-desk ... or maybe the KDE server doesn't like
connections from Australia ... ;-)
