  ECM used to do this automatically btw, until 7d6d5b1e705f54a <https://phabricator.kde.org/R240:7d6d5b1e705f54a216f8d5235b66bbf2035d7448> commented it out because it broke CI - should be investigated again, because re-reading the commit log, I fail to see how *appending* to the path would lead to things not being found....
