there is an effort to port kwin from xlib to xcb. that code will be in the 
(Qt4-based) KDE SC 4.11 release.

moving to xcb is a requirement for kwin to build with Qt5, and was motivated 
in large part by this requirement.

so, no, this is not about a KDE SC 4.x release on Qt5 :)
