kdeedu is packaged for Debian by Ben burton of the debian-qt-kde team.
They've been busy lately making sure the transition of kde 3.3.1 to testing
wen't well, kde 3.3.2 packages are currently in experimental and should be
moved to unstable (and subsequently testing) shortly.
I'm guessing that once that is done the debian-qt-kde team will turn it's
attention to kde 3.4. beta. At which point packages with the newer versions
will become available (probably from the experimental archive as long as
it's beta)
-> in short effort concerning kde (and kde-edu) packaging in Debian is
currently directed in ensuring that sarge ships with as good a KDE as
possible
