Launching Programs
There are many ways in KDE to launch programs.
The most easy one is to click on the K-Menu on the bottom-left of your screen.
(You can also click on [meta]+[f1] to open this menu)
A menu will appear with different categories of programs: internet,
multimedia, ...
Also, your most used applications are listed above in the menu.
Hover your mouse above a category, and you will see all the programs in it.
Click on it to launch it.
You can also launch programs from an icon on the desktop.
In this case you just have to click on its icon, and the application will
open.
If you want to add icons on your desktop, open the K-Menu, and drag icons from
it to your desktop.
In the menu that appears, choose copy here.
If you prefer to use the keyboard instead of the mouse, you can also press on
[meta]+[f2] to launch the "Run Command" dialog.
There you type the name of a program (eg: "konqueror") and then hit enter. The
program will launch.
