the short description is this:
get qt-embedded 3.1, compile it for framebuffer, test if it works with the
tutorial programs, you have to add the -qws flag when starting the programs.
then compile kde 3.1 with the --enable-embedded flag, and fix all problems
in the code as you find them ;-)...

kde 3.1. the problem is that nobody seems to care if this works with the 
actual kde, but i guess somebody was working on this "many moons ago",
so there is not so much code which is not working.
mainly it is the code to get keypresses, the shortcut and global shortcut 
stuff, and the netwm stuff, that is the code to handle the number of virtual 
displays and so on...

me too, but i think when there is a kde on windows, this will come to speed 
quite fast again, so i decided to focus on kde for now...
