If the only reason for having equal-size tabs is to make closing multiple
tabs easier, why not just keep the variable-size implementation and only
temporarily make the next tab the same size as the closed tab so that the
user can click the same place to close that tab, but when the cursor leaves
the tab bar, restore the original size of that tab.  This way we can have
both benefits: seeing more text when there's space available and closing
multiple tabs by clicking at the same place multiple times.  --Just a user's
opinion.
