I'd be very interested in joining such a sprint. I have been planning to
port Quassel IRC to Symbian for the longest time, as I own an S60 phone
and many users have asked for that as well. So far the efforts have
stalled, mostly because I don't feel motivated enough to write a
qmake-based build system and I know that Alex is working on plugging
Symbian support into CMake. So up to now, I don't have experience with
working on that platform at all.
In any case, we have designed Quassel's codebase with adding a mobile
version in mind, by allowing pluggable UIs (oldtimers might also
remember QuasselTopia, which was a proof of concept for the Greenphone a
while back).
A devsprint would be very valuable for bringing Quassel to Symbian,
maybe even with KDE integration enabled if the bits of kdelibs we use
are going to be ported as well. So yes, I'd be very interested.
My preference would be late (post-August) this year as well, though I
personally wouldn't care if it's a weekend or during the week.
