Fate vs Bugzilla for feature tracking

Jira is quite good stuff, and the people who make it are very Free software 
friendly. (i've hung out with some of them at FOSS conferences).

but the software is proprietary and that will apparently not be changing: i've 
talked with them about it, and their business model relies on the proprietary 
nature of the software.

just as with other non-Free solutions it is a non-starter as there are Free 
software solutions that can support our needs.
