Seems to be about gnome.

Well, we use the fdo dirs for things which make sense to share, like
trash, desktop files, mimetypes, etc.
But what's the point in putting e.g. kmailrc in ~/.local/share/config/ ?
No application other than kmail will ever read it -- and this would make it
more difficult to use the $KDEHOME trick to separate settings from two
versions of KDE.
