Text spacing problems

There are some unresolved spacing problems with text spacing on my Cyrillic-
localized desktop. The first one is with menu items and their shortcuts,
such as (look at the highlighted item):

At first I thought about simply adding more space beetwen items and
shortcuts, but later I found another (similar?) problem in logout dialog
(look at the Cancel button):

At that time, Urs Wolfer was kind enough to check out and found that Qt is
reporting wrong text width.

The font used is DejaVu Sans, and if I switch e.g. to Tahoma, the logout
button problem dissapears, but the menu problem remains.

So I'm now not sure how and if these problems are connected, and therefore
what would be the best way to fix them. If someone could trace this issue,
I'd be much abliged. (If needed for testing, the text on the logout button
is: Одустани )
