that's why i suggested offering a list of locales, only displaying the
individual settings. if a user wants to override these, he enters the
realm of kde-only settings. of course that requires understanding
libintl locale settings in the first place.
anyway, that's not what i was talking about. one might want
LC_MONETARY=de_DE, LC_NUMERIC=de_DE, LC_MESSAGES=en_US and LANG=C for
the rest - this isn't even far from what i have currently.
