this is, btw, one thing we get negative feedback over from some corporate
users who end up working in multiple-versions-of-kde environments. if we can
make this better in kde4, such as versioning the version-specific files, it
would make a number of people much happier IME.
not an easy issue in any case as it also involves app config files...
