Running kde4 applications in the kde3 desktop

One workaround is to run kdeinit when you want to switch back
to KDE3.  IIRC, this will kill the running kdeinit (from KDE4)[1], and 
then you'll have a normal KDE3 session back.  It's not ideal, because 
you have to keep "refreshing" kdeinit, but it worked for me.

I eventually just created a new user for KDE4 development.  I don't 
login as this user, but su to him in one of my konsoles.  Then I can 
happily run KDE4 apps from that konsole without disturbing the rest of 
my desktop at all.
