Is it that hard to #ifdef in the FreeBSD directory? Those files should already 
be a mess with the differences between 4- and 5-. Adding a directory means 
changing higher-level Makefiles, making sure configure detects you OK, etc. 
(Does DFly #define __FreeBSD__ BTW? There's some places that is checked - 
like ports and package management (dunno if that is relevant for y'all)).
