Hi KDE-developers
as usual I wanted to upgrade my shared KDE installation for
all our Solaris Systems from 3.1.3 to 3.1.4. As in the previous
installations I did it on top of the XFree86 X11-libraries and the
GNU tools and libraries installed in our shared /usr/local.
I'm very impressed by the much better looking fonts in the
new release, something I didn't expect befor installing it.
Unfortunately there seems to be something broken for Solaris.
The desktops can't be shut down (both in Solaris SPARC and
Solaris x86).
KDE Logout hangs in the following state:
 - fld 4705 kdeinit: Running...
 - | 4721 /usr/local/X11/kde_3.1.4/bin/artsd -F 10 -S 4096 ...
 - | 4735 kdeinit: kio_file file /tmp/ksocket-fld/klauncher...
 - fld 4708 kdeinit: dcopserver --nosid
 - fld 4712 kdeinit: klauncher
 - fld 4714 kdeinit: kded
 - fld 4723 kdeinit: knotify
 - fld 4726 kdeinit: ksmserver
 - fld 4729 xconsole
console fld 27418 -bash
console * 4673 /usr/local/bin/bash /usr/local/bin/X.kde.3.1.4
console | 4678 xinit /usr/local/X11/lib/X11/xinit/kde_xinitrc --
console * 4680 /usr/openwin/bin/X -auth /home/fld/.Xauthority :0
console * 4690 sh /usr/local/X11/lib/X11/xinit/kde_xinitrc
console | 4694 /bin/sh /usr/local/X11/kde_3.1.4/bin/startkde
console | 4724 kwrapper ksmserver
When I kill the process 'kdeinit: ksmserver' shutdown finishes.
Can anyone tell me what happens and give me some hint how
to fix the problem?
