hmm.. so i wasn't the only one who bumped into this problem... good to know...

i pondered this but couldn't come up with any use cases i could buy into so 
opted for greater encapsulation... nothing would be harmed by exporting the 
entire actionCollection by a protected method, though ... sure, why not =)
