Hi Rolf,

I'm already starting ;)

I'd noticed about the tutorial - but am getting on ok so far with duplicating
some files from an existing one and attacking them with sed - I havent got to
compiling/installing yet, is there anything thats gonna trip me up?

Actually, I also have some questions while we're at it (could also be useful
in the FAQ):

- - where else in KDE are KFile plugins used? I see the info in right click ->
Properties -> Meta Info, but is there anywhere else? I'd love to have a
tooltip for the info on mouse-over the filename in Konqueror <g>/

- - I assume KFile plugins really, really don't want to introduce any more
external dependencies to KDE...

- - Are there any guidelines on i18n strings for filetype specific stuff (like
compression settings & algorithm names)?

- - Is there any file format 'popularity threshold' to avoid KDE bloat? - or are
any and all formats good (there being no discernable UI apart from displaying
(+editing) the file info itself so I guess user confusion is moot). I also
want to do .au, .rtf, MIDI, some of the old tracker formats (s3m, xm, mod,
etc..), I guess working out file formats are my soft spot...

Ok, better stop now ;)

Regards

Shane
