Jonathan Corbet might have developed some cool data mining scripts to
help put together his periodic kernel statistics and his keynotes on the
state of kernel development.

The difficulty with tracking KDE development is that it's pulverized
into hundreds of repositories. I'd start by pulling all of them into the
same local repo. Maybe like this?

   ALL_KDE_REPOS=plasma/discover plasma/kwin ...

   set -e
   git init kde-uberbaum
   cd kde-uberbaum
   for REEPO in ALL_KDE_REPOS; do
     echo "Merging $REPO..."
     git subtree add --prefix=$REPO kde:REPO
   done

(totally untested)
