I've tried it, and it works fine here too. I've been playing a bit, it 
turns out there are some things that msgfmt won't complain about while 
this new code will, and vice versa. But I guess that is pretty much 
assumed at this point.

The question is whether it's worth further trouble only for 3.5, if we 
switch to libgettextpo for 4.0.
