Bruno

At last I got Gcompris working with LTSP and RedHat 9.0

rpm -Uvh gcompris-libassetml-1.0-1.i586.rpm

as Rami suggested in gcompris-devel digest Vol 1 #376
A cd /usr/lib
and a:
ln -s libssl.so.0.9.6 libssl.so.0.9.7
ln -s libcrypto.so.0.9.6 libcrypto.so.0.9.7

followed by a:
rpm -Uvh --force --nodeps gcompris-4.0-1.i586.rpm

I then did the following:

rpm -Uvh assetml-flags-1.0-1.noarch.rpm
rpm -Uvh assetml-voices-alphabet-en-1.0-1.noarch.rpm
rpm -Uvh assetml-voices-colors-en-1.0-1.noarch.rpm
rpm -Uvh assetml-voices-geography-en-1.0-1.noarch.rpm
rpm -Uvh assetml-voices-misc-en-1.0-1.noarch.rpm

NOTE the following:
moved /usr/share/gcompris/boards/sounds/en/geography/orange.ogg to
/usr/share/gcompris/boards/sounds/en/colors/orange.ogg

I do not know if the "ln -s assetml ..." was needed but Gcompris
has started to work.

My environment:
kernel-2.4.20-18.9
ltsp_kernel-3.0-10.k12ltsp.0.3.1
RedHat 9.0

I will be building another server the school I volunteer at
and Gcompris will be a major program for the children. I
should be finished testing Gcompris in the LTSP environment
(client/server) in about two weeks.

I thank all of the list members for your help

Jim Rich
