A cd /usr/lib 
and a:
ln -s libssl.so.0.9.6 libssl.so.0.9.7
ln -s libcrypto.so.0.9.6 libcrypto.so.0.9.7

followed by a:
rpm -Uvh --force --nodeps gcompris-4.0PRE3-1.i586.rpm

did the trick for me.
Now I can start testing.
