for starters, those freebsd ports are known to be incomplete. the ports
tree was updated by someone else even though the code they used was listed
as alpha. if i remember correctly, the port building process doesn't fail
even though the compile does so you may have a broken installation and
simply don't know it.

also, even if the port were to work, i'm not entirely certain that your
client version (3.x) would work with those backend libs (2.x). you may have
better luck with an older client.

the latest code is at 3.x (nxserver libs) and 7.x (freenx). you are
welcomed to assist in the porting process.
