Hello all,

In fact, the java client you're talking about has been written by ULP
Multimedia, which is a central department of Strasbourg Louis Pasteur
University (France) developing the use of ICT in education, scientific
and technical communication and research.
The applet is a part of the project Univ-Rx which provides a complete
remote desktop and collaborative workspace to our students, professors,
researchers.

This page was a development website. The Univ-Rx is now stable enought
to go public with it so we published an official website you can join at
http://ulpmm-projets.u-strasbg.fr.

The code is no longer experimental. The current sources are now in a SVN
(http://ulpmm-projets.u-strasbg.fr/svn/applet-univrx/trunk) and can be
considered as beta. It also includes:
- a graphical file transfert manager
- a better error handler
- a lot of fixes
The applet enables the access to Univ-Rx to 30 000 users of Strasbourg
universities trought a SSO portal. A users community already exists: it
grows every day (for exemple, Rennes University is interested by the
project) helping us by reporting bugs.

The two core developpers (Eric Decornod and Matthias Meusburger) are
both in holliday but Eric told me that there is a special branch of jsch
for j2me and the univ-rx code need to be touched to use it.
We also think that the biggest part of the job is to make it possible to
have the X binaries on the mobile devices.
