[FreeNX-kNX] text is hard to read

Hi Guys,

Installing NoMachine's NX 1.5.0 Linux client with XFT (sub-pixel font
rendering) on the Linux NX server and Linux Client seems to improved
font readability for me in NX sessions although it seems to be font
dependent - some fonts are
improved more than others. Not sure if FreeNX supports XFT? There are
Font anti-aliasing settings in the KDE Control Center under Fonts and
Configure Anti-Aliasing Settings. A side effect of using the XFT client
I haven't had a chance to look at is that I am missing a few fonts in
OpenOffice but I probably just have to add them to the font path.

I found out Microsoft has a technology called ClearType in XP which is
basically the same thing. I tried it on my XP PC with CRT display at
work and text is much clearer. Things are even better on Laptop and LCD
screens. If you use XP, try the ClearType Web Interface on the link
below.
