Open external tool with set of filenames

What platform do you use digiKam on?
Normally digiKam starts the programs in the "Open with..." menu controlled by
the corresponding *.desktop file. There is a parameter for how files are passed
to the executable file, e.g. %u, %U, %f or %F. The case determines whether the
files are passed as a list or whether new instances are started. Lowercase
means new instances.
