Open external tool with set of filenames

I'd like to be able to execute Zerene Stacker (image stacking software, ZS)
using a set of input images selected from an album in Thumbnails view. ZS
accepts multiple filenames from the command line and uses them to create a
new image stacking project.
If I select multiple thumbnails, right click and use Open With to launch
ZS, each image is opened in a separate instance of ZS.
Is there an established way to pass a set of image filenames from Digikam
as part of the command line for an external tool?
Thanks for any pointers.
Donald
