Picasa Migration - Faces in the Crowd

Until recently I was using Google Picasa 3 and have now started to 
migrate to Digikam.

I have encountered a few issues but all software has a learning curve.

Question when asking digikam to "Detect Faces" does it deliberately 
overlook those which have been previously marked as ignore by Picasa or 
is this a useful convenience.

  I was expecting many thousands of "faces in a crowd" to be detected 
but in general pleased to say this has not happened.
