My system is Win 11 Pro with much more than the minimum operating requirements.
In all the years I have used and updated digiKam, I have never had this experience.

I used the internal check for updates and used it to download 8.4.I started the download and got an error message.
After many retry attempts. I closed that window and went directly to downloads.I started the update, and prepared to uninstall.digiKam was closed and I got this:After many retry attempts, I selected IgnoreUninstall seemed to have worked, and Install started with this:After many retry attempts, I selected Ignore. When digiKam restarted, I got this: Then I rebooted and reinstalled, doing essentially all the steps above with much the same results.I did this a couple of times at least. Then I went to the download.kde.org site for digiKam-8.4-Qt6-Win64.exe and replace the initial digiKam-8.4.0-Qt5-Win64.exe with another one. This one opened OK.
I have never had to struggle so much to do an digiKam update in any of the previous ones.
I am baffled by the process, and pleased to have then new system up and running.

Good work, team. I'm rooting for you always.
