[digiKam-users] Importing from iPhone on Windows

Hi all,
and thanks for all tips.
I have settled on using PhotoSync Pro (thanks Sebastian for
the suggestion). So far it has worked great.
Regarding the original problem I believe it is due to poor design of the
Windows driver/Explorer. Apple and Windows is not a good match... It has
(intermittently) worked before but now, maybe after updates, it has become
completely unbearable.
Cheers,
Ola

The main issue with importing photos from iOS is with the conversion from
HEIC to JPG.
If in Settings/Photos you have Automatic set for Transfer to Mac or Pc, iOS
will convert to JPG on the fly when transferring. Most times I get error
specially with videos and can’t transfer any more unless you restart the
phone and or the computer.
If you use Keep Original then it would not convert and will transfer in
HEIC.

Dear Ola,
I'm using the app PhotoSync. This copies the pictures and videos from my
iPhone to my NAS.
I'm pretty much sure that this app will be able to copy the files to your
PC as well.
Best regards,
Sebastian
