Yes, the same album might exist in both the staging area as well as in
the actual collection. This occurs when some photos are finalized and
put in the collection while some pictures in the same album for some
reason cannot be finalized yet.

Do you propose I rename from
'/photos/<year>/in/<yyyy-mm-dd>/<yyyy-mm-dd>-<album-name>' to
'/photos/<year>/<yyyy-mm-dd>/<yyyy-mm-dd>-<album-name>' ? I.e., move the
folder by a rename operation in DK?
If so, I am not sure how to do that. When right clicking an album and
clicking Rename, I will seemingly only be allowed to change the folder
name - not its place in the folder hierarchy (path).

I am part of a group in that I am part of a single household in which we
all shoot a fair amount of pictures using both various dSLR cameras as
well as mobile phones. We will typically only import photos from these
devices weekly or sometimes even more infrequently. Thus, it is not
uncommon that there are thousands of photos on the devices.
I currently have well over 3k photos in 'in' folder at this moment
waiting to be sorted.
The sort process might take a few days.
When we have been traveling several thousand photos are not uncommon.
Anyway, I think both able to either allow multiple digikam windows or
being able to detach the album list will greatly enhance the ergonomics
of my workflow as well as provide flexibility for everyone to improve
theirs.
Can anyone point me to where to file this as a feature request? I am not
sure what component this goes to?
