[digiKam-users] A question of date based searches

I'm not sure if I'm having a brain failure, of if the function/feature
doesn't currently exist in Digikam.

I would like to search my photos by a date, but independent of the year
it was taken.  (ie.  July 4, or someone's birthday) 

Is this currently possible?
