[digiKam-users] Questions from a DigiKam Newb (on Linux)

The Zorin distribution is apparently based on Ubuntu, and thus supports 
the use of extra software repositories, called PPAs.
The standard Ubuntu repositories often lag behind for many packages, 
including DigiKam; to be able to enjoy the newest versions, loads of 
people are adding extra PPAs like this one:

<https://launchpad.net/~savoury1/+archive/ubuntu/digikam>

On that page there are instructions on how to add those repositories to 
your system. This is normally done via a terminal, but perhaps does 
Zorin even have some integrated visual way for doing this.

Flatpacks, snaps and appimages may not have adequate access to the 
filesystem, creating a bunch of problems (while resolving others).
