[digiKam-users] Long shot re Digikam impact on Drives

I don't see Digikam (or any other application) accessing the HDD directly, 
that kind of thing is reserved for the system... Any chance it's an 
intermittent fault on the motherboard connector or in the connection cable, 
could you connect the drive to another port?
