[Digikam-users] tagging

Hello :-)

I use digikam for many years now and it's better each day :-)

that said there is always room for improvement. some things about tagging:

* when tagging, the right column is also used for "description" and 
"légende" (sorry don't know the english use)

on one of my computer with 1366x768 screen, the part for tagging is 
extremely small: only one or two lines! the upper parts should be 
foldable or shrinkable because tagging there is nearly impossible.

* when tagging there are two important entry fields: filter and new 
tag. There should be only one, because you can't know if the tag exist 
without search and then you have to copy paste to the other filed to 
create!

still on the same subject, but much more difficult: sync between 
gallery (piwigo, for me) and digikam.

photos can be tagged at any time after putting them online. Moving 
tags from web site to local base is tedious and re-uploading images 
very unconvenient

The best way should be to use xml sidecars, so we should have a "sync 
sidecar" function, but is that in digikam or piwigo (or both, or 
none). I don't know what is the compatibility level of these sidecar 
files. Are they really compatible between application, at least as 
much as exifs, xptc etc?
