[Digikam-users] problem in opening DK

Running Ubuntu 9.1.0 and DK 1.0.0 (yeah, I know, I should update.  As a 
newbie I'm leery. )

Don't think this is a bug, but maybe the community wants to know about 
it.  I've been using DK happily for about a year.  Opened DK 2 times 
yesterday, only got a window inviting me to join up.  The 3rd time I got 
an error message about a missing path to my pictures, and an un-usable 
"shadow" of my tags.  Still no thumbnails, no albums.  I accepted the 
option that this missing path was on a removable drive and could be 
ignored, but DK still wouldn't open with my pictures.  Went away.  
Opened DK today and was recognized, but only a few thumbnails showed 
up.  Did not panic, searched through the Configure screens where all 
seemed fine.  Finally discovered that only the Search window was open; 
changed it to Albums and all was fine.   A simple solution, but still 
mystified about the failure to recognize me and how the screen choice 
got changed.  Suspicious of my recent opening of a Flikr account, though 
I had been uploading from my file management program, not DK...

Appreciate this list; I read everything and try to learn.
