Yes, i have already contacted Dave in the pass, but i'm not about this
It's can be difficult to convince him about this subject (see the dcraw web
project page FAQ)...
But the dcraw interface must give the same features in 8 and 16 bits color
depth. If 8 bits mode but can corrected white balance and gamma
automatically, why 16 bits cannot do it. To have checked dcraw code, it's
possible to dot it... but code still complex and only Dave can patch it
