Nice and cool idea.
If you create that as a flake plugin then all calligra applications can use
this. Also it would be good to have a fallback image/svg representation so
other office suites can also display the resulting data.
The data can be saved to odf in a <draw:frame> which allows differnet
represetations of the document.
It does not need any seperate filetype for this to work as odf should provide
all you need to save it and load a flackback svg/image in a different
application.
For me the bigger problem is how this will be painted but I will look forward
on how you think you can do this.
