Thanks for the contribution. It makes sense to contribute this way!
However for defaults why not just use what LibreOffice offers by
default as a starting point? Visually it's pretty neutral, not
reinventing anything, not that colorful (so less chance for
bike-shedding), and we'll have more chances for proper round-tripping.
I've done quite a few templates in my office life.
This is principle of least surprise. I also propose to go for it in
every Calligra app.
How about having your contribution in the library of Calligra styles?
E.g. on kde-files.org in Words templates section
http://kde-files.org/index.php?xcontentmode=610 (well for now still
it's called KWord in there).
For users demanding many rich templates, the Library looks like good
choice, plus some defaults distributed with Calligra, plus something
we discussed with Boemann at the sprint: Calligra Themes (sets of
styles), different approach than templates; there will be blog about
this.
