And as Jakob says: you probably just don't have the mp3 codecs installed.
But since you didn't give any further information about either your
Linux distribution, the Amarok version or the Phonon backend in use we
can't really help you.
How about being a bit more polite and rational and give us the necessary
information so we can actually answer you? Your mail appears to be an
answer to an extremely old mail that is not even in my archives which span
back several years, so it is quite difficult to answer you if you can't get
your senses together and give enough information.

Also could you please disable HTML when writing to a mailing list? Thank
