Well, I use Amarok within Gnome and although I use and like a lot of
other KDE applications (k3b, kile, rkward, kaffeine, digikam) no other
application needs kwallet.

I think the problem is not kwallet itself but that last.fm is activated
by default which triggers then the kwallet password question. So there
are 2 obvious things: either deactivate last.fm by default or give a
hint why kwallet pops up which is last.fm. Althouh I would call myself a
more experienced Linux user I needed a while to find that out.
