Well yeah, you sound reasonable :). However:

Hm, now you change 6 files, one to match each colour. Seems like not too much 
work, considering that you can then fine tune your theme (or just replace all 
icons with same one to get one colour). 
It could be the other way around - make all icons yellow, but let user replace 
them with his ones. Seems reasonable to me.

Anyway, it's not a big deal, lets concentrate on release duties ;)
