To echo Lydia here, I believe that since you are currently pretty much
the only Mac packager, the e.V. might be able to help out with
development hardware.

An 8-core MacPro with 10GB RAM (bought from e.g. Data Memory Systems as
Apple overcharges enormously) runs 3.5K or so.  It's not all that much
in the grand scheme of things.
